Re: TTB vs. THE WORLD (AKA differences between Ford TTB axles)

Old thread but this seems like the best place to pass on this information. I have confirmed with ARB tech that their new D50 locker -RD158- can be converted with their Side Gear Set 728 HO31 (bolt in, no modification required) to set the locker up for 35 spline axles. The 81-82 diff case (non c-cli...

Solo/Camburg Link Kits on 78/79?

Just found out I may be heading back to the sandbox again, so I may have more Bronco-funds than expected and now i'm considering linking the rear end of my 79. I was curious if anybody has ran a Camburg or Solo link kit on a 78/79? I cant imagine there is a ton of difference in frames etc to prevent...

Re: TRC's 79' build

got the H57's under the truck, man its sitting low now, The rear bumpers only 22" off the ground for reference. I ended up with a bit more rake than I was hoping for but its not too horrible, I may end up doing to J40's down the road to gain an inch or two in the back. As it sits now I have 6.5-7" b...

Re: MOSS BROTHERS 79 BRONCO CLASS 3 RACER

First of all, I'm a huge fan, you're rig has been an inspiration for me and my Dad for both our Bronco projects. I read that you're strapped at 14" up front, I have a similar setup on my 79' i'm building and and am moving to coilovers soon. If you don't mind sharing, how much bump travel are you run...

Re: TRC's 79' build

Go to a Allen head cap screw and ditch the factory style pins-- if the leafs need a bigger hole for a bigger size then use the same carbide bit for the holes. Those regular leaf center pins are junk! Yeah I ditched the Grade 2 factory center pins and put in some Grade 8 bolts and rounded the heads,...

Re: TRC's 79' build

Mine were BARELY rubbing, so I got a carbide bit on a die grinder and clearanced it. I didn't have to take much more than 1/4" off mine I think the body's might be different from 79 to 94 lol. But my xmember has like a "lip" that curves down. The shackles themselves rub barely, but the deavers (j40...

Re: TRC's 79' build

Did you have to notch your cross member along the body for your shackles? I have the same ones and mine are rubbing right on that xmember. If you did have to notch it, how much did you take out and what did you use to do it? Mine were BARELY rubbing, so I got a carbide bit on a die grinder and clea...

Re: TRC's 79' build

Today I got around to swapping back to stock style shackle hangers, since I was running a shackle flip. I also installed Camburg +1.5" shackles while I was it it. As it sits now it should be roughly 1'' lower than factory ride height. I'm really happy with this ride height! however, When I install t...

Haha I know you swapped to a 1 ton already. It looks great. I really like the glass on the front.

Thanks for the offer, But I think for now i'm going to push with finishing up with the solid axle and seeing if i'm happy with it.

Re: TRC's 79' build

Damn!!! What a beast!! You've got to have a big fat smile every time you fire that beast up. Love it! Thanks guys! Yikes, it puts me in a better mood every time it fires up! Not sure if it has the same effect on my new neighbors though... haha I Tore the front end apart today and took some measurem...

Re: TRC's 79' build

I agree a lathe would be ideal, however like they said, space and cost rule it out as an option for now. We'll see how the TN-250 treats me. Well, I made it home! Not a whole lot of updates though, been busy getting life started again stateside. Unfortunately a lot of my Bronco savings $$$ got turne...

Re: TRC's 79' build

Nice list of tools but I'm very much not a fan of the TN-250 Interesting, mind sharing why? It had some pretty good reviews from what I read, but id like to hear from someone with personal experience. Can't wait to see this thing progress more! Thanks, i'm really looking forward to the next round o...

Re: TRC's 79' build

Thanks for the feedback! I'm really happy with how it looks with the new glass! I'll be heading over the pond for a deployment soon so there wont be any progress for awhile. But, hopefully when I get back there will be a pile of goodies waiting for me. I already have these waiting to go on; -Deaver ...

Re: TRC's 79' build

Well, I changed the front end up a bit... McQueen came out with a new f150/bronco front end and I had to have it! ended up with the 6th one made, and got a chance to mock it up today! let me know what you think! http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1068106/fullsize/image.jpg http://www.super...

Re: TRC's 79' build

A few little updates, the Bronco is now down with me in Idaho. I got a lot of the odds and ends that needed sorted out done and got it street worthy. Hopefully I can get exhaust installed this week! Re: TRC's 79' build

Are you sure Autofab doesn't offer the bulged quarters? John asked when we got these and I requested the stock versions since they work fine with the 35's and we are still using stock front fenders. They are using Autofab fenders on the Method truck that just ran the NORRA 1000 race and John was ta...

Re: TRC's 79' build

Here are a couple of pics of ours. You would never get the top on or get the tail gate to fit the way we did them, but they look fine from 50'. I had never realized y'all were running the autofab quarters, the look really clean with the tail light section included! unfortunately they don't offer it...
