Trailing arms
If your mounting hole are already 1” you can always put in some weld washers that seat inside the 1” hole and space it down to 3/4”.

No need for such huge uniballs and bolts. 1” uniballs and 3/4” bolts are plenty strong. If you have the shock mounted lower than the center line of the lower link, no need for wobble stoppers either, and less wear. As far as spring rate, it really depends on where your shocks mount to the lower link...

D50/D44 Go Fast TTB – Gathering Ideas
It seems funny that the 50's are smaller on the outer end between the knuckle and the diff than the 44's. Can you measure the material thickness of the 50? I think the 44's are .156, might have to go out to the garage to check. Well they have to be able to fit the u-bolts for the leaf springs. They...

Travis, what would you charge for a set of D50/D44 beams extended 1.5” with some custom rad arms that eliminate bolting them to the top and bottom? No idea. You would have to call the shop. I haven’t even finished the ones I have now so I wouldn’t even be able to tell you if they work or not. I thi...

. I set my pinion up aligned/same angle with driveshaft output at t-case at ride height. That’s good for a normal driveshaft with 2 u joints but on a double cardan joint you want the pinion to be inline with the driveshaft. Reason is the u joints move in an oval at any angle other than straight. Ha...

I think he means 2 degrees down from transfer case output angle. With cardan joint it should point directly at the transfer case output, when at ride height with full spring pack. 2° down at the pinion. His theory is that when you are driving and put a load on the driveshaft the axle wrap will turn...

I wouldn’t set the pinion angle with just the mono leafs. I’d throw the packs back together and jack it up to ride height. The pinion should be inline with the driveshaft at ride height. If you have the e4od your driveshaft will bind before you droop all the way out with 12s under the bed and Deaver...

The issue I see with the add on tire support step Travis showed is what do you do with a different tire brand, inflation amount or tread wear? You're either going to be heavily preloading the hardware with a newer/more tread/highly inflated tire, or not have the support with the opposite. I guess i...

Bracing Door Panels
I hate these door panels with a passion. The shaky mirror is likely broken. It has 2 bolts on the outside and one on the inside of the door. The arm that goes across to the inside of the door usually breaks from normal use. The door latch might be either the door skin is cracked and allowing movemen...

Also, keeping the front 8 lug opens up the options for rear full floater axles. Dime a dozen sterlings or 14 bolt full floaters. Much cheaper and stronger options.

Don’t forget the brakes. A fabricated knuckle allows you to run much larger brakes. The d50 already has much larger rotors and calipers. Also larger ball joints (Atleast the lower one.)

The trick is to build a little “step” on the rear bumper that the tire rests some of its weight on. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190306/3d50b5972999544765cb6c3881893fcc.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190306/994337babac5a286902d7c17ddb6bda8.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190306/...

Passenger beam will be a pain in the ass though because you can't just use the 3rd as a reference point like you can on the driver's beam. The passenger beams are nearly the exact same length. I was planning on opening the axle window and reinforcing it enough to cycle properly. The center u joint ...
