Re: Big Brakes
Residual valves were created for use on drum brakes. Vehicles had them built into the prop valve if they had drum brakes. If it had front drum it had two residual valves in the prop valves. Broncos had residual valves for the rear in the prop valve. People think when they gut the factory prop valve ...

Re: Big Brakes
The combo valve is just an adjustable rear prop valve with a brake light switch. Yes the front brake line does connect to it but it does not affect front pressure. What you are calling a gutted residual valve is actually a prop valve. You don't need it at all. It can be eliminated. I don't understan...

Re: Longer shackles and lower hanger question
Normally I wouldn't be loaded to heavily except when we take off camping. We are at the age now that we can take off and go and we don't have to come back home till we want to. That involves 20 gallons of water, 20 gallons of fuel. fridge, stove, a 3rd battery for running fridge and auxiliary power,...

Re: Longer shackles and lower hanger question
Should be able to answer this in a week or 2 as it is exactly what my 78 will have on it, once they show up. I am welding on new perches and ditching the stock block at the same time. Yes I should have done this long time ago but they never cracked so I didn't... It is all your fault. You are the o...

Re: Longer shackles and lower hanger question
Spent the early morning hours writing a detailed reply only to lose it. Using the deaver CSH57 5 inch coils up front. These normally come out 4-4.5 inches. Figured I would use the H58 6 inch leaf instead of the matching H57 leaf. I would use a longer shackle to level the ride height and gain travel....

Longer shackles and lower hanger question
Just running something thru my head before I start spending the cash. The basics: 79 Bronco with D60 Front and 10.5 rear 5 inch H57 fronts. Unfortunately the truck will never see the desert but will see forest roads and fire service roads. Roads are a mix of sand and clay sometimes very loose sand. ...

Re: Introducing a new APEMFB member!
Nice looking!! Curious as this is the first time I have seen a RHD Bronco. Which side is the transfer case drop on? Where is the propane tank mounted and how large is it?

Re: Stand Alone Fuel Injection & E4OD Controllers??
It has been very long time since I have used any of the OEM stuff. As far back as when Ryan started Ford EFI. I was using his harnesses with manual transmissions so I can't speak of using something like this with an automatic. First off let me say there are numerous people out there that call themse...

Re: Solo Motorsports Bronco Cage
If you need any more pics hit me up. We are putting one together right now. Let's see if I can word this correctly. There appears to be a splice in the upper tubes of the front tubes and rear tubes behind the B pillar. How is that splice made? Is it sleeved? From looking at all the pics you have to...

Re: Solo Motorsports Bronco Cage
I found these pics that show the pontoons (rocker rails). Don't know if they will help or not. The article in FourWheeler does a good job of illustrating installation. Wished they offered a similar cage for 78-79. Has anyone had any experiences with body seams cracking when using solid body mounts a...

Re: Upgraded Mustang Pumps ??
I have no idea how you will connect the hydramat to the Mustang style in tank pumps. I have not seen anyone offering a conversion fitting to adapt the 22mm pump inlet to the NPT outlet of the Hydramat. There is hope for those of us wanting to use pump on a stick in tank pump and hydramat. Holley has...

Re: 78/79 Coil Over Buckets?
I guess you could always weld them once you decide the position you want. Then you could add a 2 or 3 piece tower brace to help.

Re: Need Oil Cooler Recommendation
I was thinking of mounting in front of the radiator. An oil cooler thermostat will eliminate the over-cooling concern. I like the thermostat from Earl's because it is a billet flat block not a cast piece.

Need Oil Cooler Recommendation
Trying to decide which brand to buy and if it needs to be tube and fin or plate style.
Looking for something super rugged not one of those wimpy one size fits all trans coolers. This needs to be an Engine Oil Cooler.

Re: DIY Inner Engine Flush Preferences??
Best two things I have found for dissolving rust is White Vinegar or Ospho. Ospho will dissolve the rust and leave a rust preventative coating. I have never hurt of anyone using it on an assembled engine. You could drain the block and fill it with either one and let it sit a few days and flush it ou...
