C/T Beam axle clearance

I have stock width C/T beams on my class 3. I am going to be finishing up the welding soon of all the gusseting/bracing/raduis arms/shock mounts. I have heard that the window on the passenger side beam needs to be clearenced for the axle during cycling. Right now I am looking at having to mount the ...

Re: DIY Cut & Turned Beams

I spent well over 40 hours designing, cutting and turning, cycling, plating, etc. my beams/radius arms on my class 3. But while I was doing it correct...I got to thinking about how you could do it fast and half assed on a beater....it is only TTB after all ;) 1.) Jack up the vehicle chassis to new d...

Build an exo cage and hang a TT body on it! The comfort of a stock bronco interior and the cool factor of a street legal trophy truck!

1818 chase to Gun-it?

I switched over to moniter channel 4 and tried to contact you. All I got was some one hollering back in spanish. I tried one more time but got nothing. I didn't worry too much since you said you were in contact with someone in your group. Sorry we couldn't help, hope you made it back safe. We ended ...

I think we'll be renting a house just to the north of zoo road. I'll stop by and say hi if I see the bronco.

Re: Drop down brackets instead of C/T?

I had drop down brackets on my 94 ford explorer and ended up having to pull them off the truck multiple times to weld cracks/reinforce them. That was the last set I ever bought. It also wass not a race car, it was my DD.

Re: Bronco Project killer!!

Thanks guys! I'll be back on the bronco wed! Yep, those are CNC billet lower links. Can't claim we made those though! I love having no bends in the chassis. All the tubing is laser cut and goes together really fast and accurately. There are no mitres that are not part of a multiple tube intersection...

Nothing special class3 pics

More pics of the "quick and dirty" build. Which has been less quick and more dirty! Haha! Alot of little things going on right now that make boring pictures. Buttoned up the motor, I'll wait to get it in the truck to make the headers. Also got my rallye 4000's in and built the upper light bar and or...

Re: Build overkill.

Just so it's clear. This isn't directed at race builds, this is addressing pre runners. I think we all understand the need for overkill on everything on a race truck. I've seen what some would call low tech trucks that out performed a high tech truck. Look at what some pre runners have evolved into...

Re: Build overkill.

Yikes - The radius arms turned out pretty well, but did end up getting modified slightly. I'll get some pics up when the front is out of powdercoating!

As far as chase support, thanks for the offer to help, I will need it! How awesome would a class 3 bronco with an all bronco support team be! Haha!

Re: Build overkill.

I typically build my class 3 with whatever is left over in the shop! Say I design for .100 thick and have a bunch of .125 laying around ~ BOOM, it's overkill. Going the other way, I'm trying to keep it light. My thoughts are, as much as I love the TT class 3 builds, IMO it's a short wheel base...

Re: Do gofast folks generally only widen the front??

Also, the serious racetucks that sit lower in the rear than in the front (see the pics in the c-notch spring under thread) , is this done to reduce nosedive because of front end weight when jumping? Another reason may be that alot of times a race truck may just APPEAR lower in the rear. Given the f...

Re: Masterpiece in Metal

Hey, I'm from the Midwest...why don't I own it?

There is nothing wrong with prerunning in the midwest, you just have to wait till the groomers go down the trail and try to swerve the snowmobile clubs.
