Re: best tail gate

Yeah I don't want much to do with the mechanics of it either Steven. Wish I had that kind of time. Let me know if you find someone who knows what they're doing, I may give 'em a crack too.

But there's still that group buy thing......

Re: best tail gate

The best tailgate is a working one you don't have to screw with. That said, I too have some tailgates to deal with. Jim & Paige's Bronco needs an Ehmke special, and Mom & Dad's Thanksgiving Bronco needs an OE rehab to include a new outer because the spare tire holder split the seam. Sounds like we n...

Re: WANTED: Plastic Under Tailgate, 96 Bronco

OK it's me. Just looked under the TG of the 96 and there it is. Never even noticed that thing before.

Hmmm.....on our way up tomorrow I'll go dig around in the barn through the stripped 96 parts bin.

Re: KOH 2019

Crap. We're gonna miss everyone and KOH again this year Tony. We really, really enjoy this trip and though I said it last year.....we'll be there next year if Jim & Paige's Bronco can get happy again. Mostly good things pushing it to the backburner, but we got an engine spec from PRI so we're assemb...

Re: Lift Kit recommendations

Your wallet will dictate the mfg and/or style exclusively.....Chinese production or American ingenuity. Pro Comp, Rough Country and the like are good for DD use, cruising the mall and occasional light off roading or crawling. Complete suspension and associated only I'll call this the $500 to $1500 s...

Re: Bella the Bronco

If you're not running the Cats you can stop reading now. If you are, consider scrapping the muffler and turning out before the rear tire. I did this on our Street Bronco following the advice of some here and it works out very well. Never too loud, but makes a fun little roar if I mash it. This Bronc...

Re: Second alternator location

If I do this I'm going to wrap it in the serp, but I understand why a separate belt for the second alt could be a good thing. Maybe a bit of a ducted shield to deal with the environment down there. Since we're on the subject, has anyone ever seen or heard of an alternator with a clutch on it like an...

Second alternator location

Has anyone ever seen a second alternator mounted where the air pump is on a 5.8? On the 96 there's an idler pulley there instead. If a second alternator was necessary it seems like a good place to put it so the rest of the points around the other equipment aren't jammed and blocking access. The only...

Re: New Year's @ California City 2018

Great idea Steven. Will be crowded and could be butt cold.....however fun and hundreds of miles to go as you now know. December 31 will be 25th Anniversary for Paige and I in Jackson Hole, so we'll have to suffice with 150 hp sleds in the snow instead of a Bronco in the dirt. You guys will have a gr...

Re: Was it something I said?

Remember I'm old so please help me understand. This Jerry is an over-inflated giant ego fighting douchebag? Sure does seem like he garners quite a bit of traffic. Why is he relevant? Don't think I've ever met him. Maybe he's much smarter than Brandon. Maybe he can help me with my better life. Maybe ...

Re: Was it something I said?

As one of the founding fathers of GFB, I'm wondering what happened to this site? Broncos are more popular than ever for prerunners, and with the new Bronco coming next year, don't you think this place would be buzzing? So I ask the people of GFB why??? Interesting thread Ollie. My own thirst for a ...
