Re: Kritter's 96 Bronco

He has a motor build shop and general auto service shop in moreno valley, been there since 1953 and its nic...

Re: Kritter's 96 Bronco
Since the only thing I never touched was the motor... I figured it was time to build one. 408 stroker, AFR heads, 30lb injectors, comp cam for good manners, 255lph fuel pump, 9.8:1 comp etc.... I got with Steve at Power Train dynamics who specd the build knowing I wanted at least 400ft-lbs of torque...

Re: 1356 t case pump drag
I tore it down again for good measure and checked everything...I think its just a tight fresh planetary and not the pump. Back together and ready to rip.

Re: Fuel Gage pinned pass full
It is only the pump..id go $75 plus shipping and toss in a delphi good spare with 40 or 50k on it. I went to 255lph pump for the new motor so the stock style ones are no longer needed. You would still need the sending set up.

Re: Fuel Gage pinned pass full
Mine did that until i bought a ford pump and sender assembly. Very irritating and intermittent. All connections confirmed tight twice before tossing the 20 year old assembly out. I’ve got a ford pump with 5k on it if you’re dropping the tank and want a good pump!

1356 t case pump drag
I just rebuilt a manual 1356 t case. Other than typical bearing and chain drag i feel a bunch of pump drag. I have my electric t case out also with 215k on it and the input and out put shafts spin with minimal effort. The fresh rebuild manual t case has maybe a couple foot lb required to spin it and...

Re: Flight industries fabricated knuckles and brakes
Holy sheep shit! What do you think? 25-30ft air? Mr. Cox has a brass pair I can say that much. If you excluded the height of the take off and landing...probably pretty accurate. Ridiculous fuckin jump for everybody out there in a prerunner of some sort thats for sure! The LS sounds mean in that thi...

Re: Steering pump
The 96 has smaller metric AC bolts and the van bracket is non metric. If I remember correctly after 14 years. I got the small pulley suggestion from Howe, but never did get one. I do not remember how my high pres line went in sorry. I just bought on from NAPA and used it. I do remember it was kinda...

Re: Steering pump
Here is the Stretch Bronco summary: Van pump, bracket*, & High pressure line, small in line filter in the return line, cooler in the return line, Stock box, Amsoil ATF. I used the stock pulley , but would recommend the smaller rock crawler pulley (Howe) for more poop at low speeds. * New hardware s...

Re: Steering pump
I know it adds some cost but the TC pump has worked well on the bronco. I have had both Sag and TC on the black bronco. Solo mods the stock bracket now and sells. I just used the Howe steel mod adapter plate $25-30 at the time. again you will need TC pump, pulley, and adapter and figure out lines. ...

Re: Steering Systems - Stock, Superunner & Equal Len. Crossover
Kris anyway you can post the drill mod?? I think that swingset steering requires a higher output pump than a regular stock configurated steering linkage Its the ram that requires more volume/gpm to not "catch" Pull the fitting off back of pump with a 1" socket. use magnet to pull piston and spring ...

Re: Steering Systems - Stock, Superunner & Equal Len. Crossover
mods above worked great #10 drill, reduced height piston
...also incorrectly stated above, the fittings were aluminum at least on the pump. I will post proper steel part number when I get it.

Re: Used shock buyer tips
another thing to keep in mind is that king shims are $4 where the other brands are in the $1-1.50 range, so if you are doing a revalve it will add up quickly. people will claim their prerunner series kings have 'race' internals, chances are they just mean they have viton seals, which doesnt make th...

Re: Steering pump
and to be clear, the reman cardone 207878 pump from rock auto is not adequate with my Tommy Lee set up, the C2 pump was much better that was modified by Lee but it always made noise and it had 8 years on the clock so i figured good time to swap while its getting a motor.

Re: Steering pump
Be cautious with the rebuit saginaw pumps. There are truck internals and car internals and alot of the reman companies only have one part number. Word on the Internet is that they only use car internals because its cheaper. May just be an internet rumor but it sounds plausible. Id recommend using w...

Re: Steering Systems - Stock, Superunner & Equal Len. Crossover
Update after putting some miles on it...Cardone 207878 doesnt have adequate flow or pressure and the wheel "catches" easily if you saw at the wheel and effort is higher than previous pump. I pulled the main fitting and piston assembly. Drilled main fitting to #10 bit from a .134 dia port and reduced...
