Re: I REALLY like this forum, but the format is so HARD to read!
I think a lot of the ease of read has to do with where the monitor is: I look from mine out into the trees where the snow is falling.
I switched the setting to silver a looooong time ago because it was just hard to look at in black and red. No big.

Re: Koh style IRS hub discussion.
Dynatrac has a D60 and supposedly a D80 center section for IS. Width will likely be the issue with them for max WT. When the dust settles in my life I would like to build a '75 F-series /SWB; running IFS (A-arm) a Big and a D60 rear on 4Dz. I'm not looking for max WT so the D80 unit's width is not a...

Re: Winter ROCKS!
Just a little south of Bend we were running -30°F at night and often sub 10°F for the day time high. Currently it is a nice warm at 30°F. I would rather have winter then summer, it is the best time to run the trails desert by far! Don't get me wrong a few wees of hut weather like maybe 75°F tops is ...

Re: Building a gps app
I am finding that on the Samsung Galaxy this app works rather well: http://www.viewranger.com/en-us. One thing that I don't like is that I can not download to a chip on the PC (25x faster then a smart anything) and then load to the device. Dust Looks like a good app, checking it out now. Re: Building a gps app
Because I'll likely never venture south far enough to see the border again but will be heading north; 90% of the features relating to course marking and SCORE maps are useless to me but if you allow for various map overlays such as USGS and the various Google & BING sat overlays that would be good. ...

First talked to John I believe back in the late nineteenseventy… could of been the dawn of the 80's  That I have built 99.9% of the parts I have run has gotten in the way of dropping huge coin in John’s business yet that has never stopped him from answering my questions over the decades. He was...

Re: Random updates... what are you working on?
Wood is stupid. Tolerances suck, nothing is straight, and metal drill bits don't work well in it. All that by 100x and you forgot to mention that a 2x4 is not, and that a 2x6 cut in one mill can be as much as 1/2" larger or smaller then the same 2x6 from another mill. Then there is the issue ...

Re: Air Filter Options
Don't forget to not take your intake air from under the hood.
Many if not most of the "cold" air intakes actually pull hotter air then the factory set up.
Hot air= the ECU retarding the timing=LESS POWER/MPG!

Re: Tent
I've always wanted a roof top tent simply because they look so f'ing cool. In reality, though, I think it's kinda dumb to have your vehicle incapacitated by your tent. We spent 21 out of 23 nights and covered near 6000-miles with our RTT in June. Once or twice we stayed put with the tent really tha...

Re: Random updates... what are you working on?
I’ve managed to get all of the post 1980 Fullsize trucks running and ready to sell; had to get them running because they have scrap value otherwise. Amazing (to me) how much the market has changed in the past couple years and how the value of the 80’s / 90’s trucks has fallen! I know that all cars/t...
