Re: Carb issues
Another fan of C&J. Expensive and worth it. We have never touched our C&J carb in 3000 race miles. Works better than the EFI I had previous. How expensive? C&J modified and setup Holly 750DP $1200 including custom ramp on the MSD disty. You can buy a stock Holly 750DP for under $600. C&J is worth ev...

Ours has 5/8" plunge using stock pivots and 1.5" wider per side to achieve about 18" travel. Most of the plunge is at droop.

Nothing special, probably ought to be refreshed.
Make offer. It's in El Cajon taking up space.

PM if you have something specific you need. Going to...

Re: Baja 1000 15
Here is our story about why we pulled the plug on our race. Basically we had the wrong snap ring in the cross over CV (the only CV we use) in the custom front axles which consist of RCV CV inner and Spidertrax Ultra4 outer parts. RCV has a round profile ring and a square profile ring to retain the a...

A neat project would be to put a York style air compressor in place of the smog pump for on board air (on non-smog trucks).

Re: fiberglass tailgates
He probably does not sell many of them. If it's a race bronco then no tailgate and if it's a prerunner or other then you probably want the roll up window to lock the gear up when the roof is on.
He did tell me they were strong enough to sit on or roll a tire over for loading gear.

Re: 96 Bronco turbo
Needs a chop top to complete the look.
Do you suppose the turbo is only on one exhaust bank? Not much room under there to get the passenger exhaust over to the turbo.
Also without an intercooler, I'd expect very low boost to avoid detonation.
Still very cool.

That valving is a lot lighter than what i had on my yellow bronco but i thought the oil was 5 wt, not 10 wt and that would change everything.

Re: Cut and turn dana 50 discussion.
Yes the D50 u-joint does bind before the D44 and if you clearance a D50 yoke to cycle as much as a clearanced d44 yoke it weakens it so much that it breaks. This is the reason we went from the D50 yoke to the RCV CV in Glen and my race bronco. So this is a fundamental travel limiter on a d50 ttb. St...
