Re: Running a second alternator or a york in place of air inj
I had a drag race style vacuum pump mounted in that location for a while. It fit fine. Ended up removing it because it would evacuate too much oil from the engine. The York compressors are fairly large and I doubt it would fit there. But the newer style alternators should fit.

Re: Radiators-- stock or aluminum replacements??
Top tip, put the steering cooler on the low pressure side. The high pressure side will split open most coolers.

Re: Radiators-- stock or aluminum replacements??
Steering fluid does get hot and does need a cooler. Some OEM performance cars use steering coolers. Steering coolers need to have low backpressure, plate coolers are not the best choice because of this. Best bet, and as OEM does, is a large tube serpentine cooler.

Re: Mini spool?
Mini spool not strong enough for full size truck. Get a real spool and at a minimum get some 35 spline axles. Just my opinion.

Re: Came home via AAA again...help please!!
The disty's with the embedded TFI are not reliable as they are subjected to a lot of heat. They die without warning and have total failure when they go. Good idea to carry a spare. The newer setups with the module on the firewall or inner fender are a lot more reliable. Electronics don't like heat, ...

Re: 94 Bronco power window issues (all windows)
I've found the bronco-era window switches to be unreliable, needing replacement every few years. They are cross linked so that makes them hard to debug. They are not too expensive, I'd put new ones in and if it still does not work then at least you know it's not the switches and you won't have to wo...

Re: who's running a "built" motor?
Never had Ole Yellar on the dyno. It was nowhere near smogable. I guess from seat of the pants that it made 450hp and similar torque at the crank? There is this soft sand that goes on for miles at the south end of Laguna Salada outside Mexicali. With my old stock engine I could not get through it in...

Re: who's running a "built" motor?
It's hard to beat the Ford crate engines. For the 427 Windsor we put in the race bronco, I don't think I could buy the parts for what the complete engine costs. Summit offered it cheaper than Ford, but still with the Ford warranty, it actually shipped from Ford. The down sides are that you have to b...

For the record, I deal with Mastercraft fairly often and NEVER have an issue regardless of special requests or catalog stuff. My experience with them has been A++ all the way.

Re: Glen Strightiff/Chris Wilson C3 build
Hey Chris. How has the moving of the fill hole on the TTB housing worked out? Has there been any issues with having more gear oil in the housing? Before I truss mine, I am thinking about moving it also. No issues with that. The stock fill hole location was in the way of where I wanted to put the tr...

when the end plate/cap came loose, it moved around and broke off the lip that the cap seats in on the flanged case. see this video to see what parts i'm talking about.

Re: front true trac issue
So here's a new (to me) tru trac issue. Pulled ours out of the racer yesterday and found the bolts that retain the end plates on the differential had all backed out and the heads were wearing away on the bearing cap. Not good. Diff guy told me he has seen that on very high torque applications, in pa...

Re: front true trac issue
It has nothing to do with the diff per say, the issue is the axle is on a slip yoke because it's a TTB and needs to be retained in the diff by some mechanism otherwise it will work its way out. There is only a little over an inch of spline engagement inside the front diff. Solid axle D44 apps do not...

Re: Oversized fule tank
NWMP sold their fuel tank business to these guys: http://www.sunsetmetalfab.net/page008.html
The sunset website does not list a big bronco tank but I'm about 95% sure the picture of the tank they do show is for a big bronco.
I'd give them a call. I had a NWMP tank and it worked great.
