Re: 4-link
The attached is more what I'm leaning, to A CORR type design with the CO in where the BP is in this picture. You really don't want to do this. With as narrow as the Ford frames are, by the time you move the upper axle pivots in enough to clear the frame under articulation the angle on the uppers wi...

The clip isn't really the problem, it's the cap rotating under heavy loads that spits the clip out. A small tack weld on the cap will end this problem.PaulW wrote:Yes, the c clip joints are less reliable. The snap ring is much better.

How do you find that point? Testing and testing and more testing. Thats why im not a fan of sending in shocks for a "revalve". Go out in the desert and get dirty. The only way to do it. Video tape it going down through a rough section and play it back in slow-mo. And be prepared to pull the shocks ...

Re: 4-link
Now, I'm really looking for compliance at the slow end, which would be almost completely wrong for race speeds. A set-up that will be smoother then stock and yet will function long after the stock set up has packed it in. Compliant and then again when that unavoidable big hole or rock magically app...

Re: Spring perch angle
OK, so you still have the cardin joint. Assemble the pads, axle and center it with the pinion facing strait forward. U-bolts should be snug but not tight. Jack up the rear till your off the jack stands on the frame. Take the stands and put them under the axle and lower the axle on to them. This will...

Aw geez, don't let Steve W see this or he will never stop bugging Me to fix his Blazer......
Although, I might be willing to fix the steering if it means we don't have to spend hours waiting for him to fix that pile on the trail.........

Barge #3.......... Eventually........
Well, Barge #2 had no soul. It only saw street duty for about 6 Mo's before My lovely CHP long block took a dump. Since I was getting almost 2 years out of My own builds this really irritated Me. So it sat like this for 5 or 6 years..... http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g122/bdkw1/For%20sale/DSC001...
