Re: Trans and gear ratio's ?
"After 30,000 race miles and nearly half of that in second gear, I can safely say that what will burn up a C6 transmission is slippage, a plugged filter, or insufficient cooling. Even the standard aluminum housing planetary with 3 planet gears and stock input shaft holds up, at least with something ...

Re: The Beast
The way it acted is that it was still pulling pretty good, really in the meat of the powerband at that speed. Im running a c6 and 3.55's at the moment with 33" bfgs. I will be going to 4.10's and 35's soon, I think i would have a hard time going that fast on 35's with 3.55's. I wish 2nd gear was a l...

Re: The Beast
112mph has been achieved. She still had more, I don't have a long enough stretch to find out the top end. I was unable to make a video. I think I need a go pro or something.

Re: Start Your Go-Fast Build-Rear Suspension
I have deaver j-40's in the back with threat shackles, and 2.5x12" king rezis with threat under bed shock mount. I have a race stack in the shocks. I am having what seems to be a situation where after hitting a bump, the rear end wants to rebound more than I would like, I have 150 psi in the shocks...

Re: Tuning via EGT
When I built cart motors WOT EGT was set at 1250* More than that an you risked sending a chunk of piston out the exhaust port. Short roundy round tracks you could fudge a little, but anything with a long strait like willow needed to be kept at 1250*. Are you running a vacuum advance distributor? On...

Re: Tuning via EGT
Here are some of the arcticles I have been reading on this subject. This is from trick tuners. "EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) is a very useful tuning tool when combined with a wideband O2 sensor. EGT seemed to get a bad rap when used to try and determine actual AFR (Air Fuel Ratio) because it is inf...

Re: Tuning via EGT
Yeah, when I hit 1450 at 65mph I knew it was too lean, after rejetting it still may be. It is definitely cooler, and around town, 35-45mph It usually runs between 1100-1200*. The engine does not detonate, or ever get over 200*, even in the 105* weather. The other thing is that the plugs don't look l...

Tuning via EGT
I did not fork over the cash for a wideband AFR sensor, but I had an EGT sensor left over from my days of racing karts. My motor is a 414w with ported windsor Sr. heads, weiland stealth dual plane, really mild cam, and a summit 600cfm 4-barrel vac secondaries. To start out I put the carb on in facto...

Re: Push button 4x4 problems
Shiftster installed, got it into 4 low, wouldnt do 4h, promptly broke the stub shaft u-joint end lol. Now its time to install the d50 stub shaft. Fun fun. I ground it down too far looking for big travel, 4low and big horsepower abd a nasty flooding arroyo crossing = carnage.
