Re: Going wider
Interesting take on not building two of the same kinds of vehicles Tony. Now I'm starting to wonder wether my '71 GMC might just need a Dana 60 front and a set of 40's. One idea a friend tossed out the other day was buying a set of Rockwells and putting 52 inch tires on it. Though cool, this would s...

Re: Going wider
I will not be going wider or stretch in my Bronco. Stock width is fine but... I will probably do a 3.5-inch wider TTB swap into my '71 GMC C25 and very likely link the rear. No smog needed so I can go big on the power and the longer wheelbase will allow me to do an Np203/NP205 doubler setup so I can...

Re: 2016 Bronco?
I have to lay off the tacos if I want to fit into my next project... a '64 VW Baja Bug. Beers are fine though since I can only handle about 4 before I'm done for the night.yikes wrote:If Ford builds a new full size Bronco, I'll buy you all the beer and tacos you can handle Augi. Hopefully they'll listen and make it.... and hopefully give me a discount on my purchase, haha!ChaseTruck754 wrote:I was diggin the diesel motor option & the 6 speed!
But yes Agui - good job on getting me. This is one new "truck" I may actually have interest in. Too bad the bean counters won't let it happen.

Re: 2016 Bronco?
I was thinking gt500 engine? Really?... That's too much power, unless they increase the wheelbase. Sadly with head hung low I must tell my co-worker it was a hoax. His reply when I told him was " I'm going to start saving up" All the stuff you mentioned sounded cool to me as far as options, I do ha...

Re: 2016 Bronco?
Were those pictures made especially for the article? Yes, I've been secretly working on them for the last couple of weeks in my spare time. The exterior is a Ford Atlas but it's been warped and shaped pretty extensively. I don't remember quite how many layers I had but it was a lot. The rear wasn't...

Re: 2016 Bronco?
They are buying IFS parts that are Wangler specific. Probably another bad input, but there are believers.??? The Wrangler is not going to be IFS, at least not in the very immediate future. That was just somebody taking a quote out of context when interviewing Jeep's CEO. [/quote] Where did you read...

I like a good April Fool's prank...I read it all the way through and was duped. I really love when you can do one that gets the right people thinking abou...

Re: 2016 Bronco?
These days with billions of dollars being spent to develop vehicles that get better mileage its hard to believe that the concept in the joke blog would ever come to pass. Its much more likely that Ford will develop a Focus off road vehicle. Ha. Consider the engine sizing that is going on. Sure more...

Re: 2016 Bronco?
A friend of mine got a call from someone at Ford about this. I guess it's on their radar now. I will say that within the first 45 minutes, we had over 26K page views. At 24 hours it was at 316K page views. That's just on FourWheeler.com. The other sites we posted it on (Truckin, Diesel Power and Tru...

Re: Bronco Running Lean
I do have the factory camshaft. I'm all too familiar with the distributor issues. Learned this the hard way in my '79. The MSD Pro Billet distributor I used on it seems to be working fine over a year later and tons of miles on it.
Thanks for the heads up though.

Re: Bronco Running Lean
So my buddy was pulling it into his driveway and it died. This time it wouldn't start and it he said the distributor rotor was able to spin freely. I've had a roll pin go out on it in the past and I replaced it and that was over a year ago. Looks like the roll pin sheared again. everything else look...

Re: Seats You All Love???
I'm bigger than most people so they are a little tighter on me but not bad at all. Everyone else seems to really love them though. I guess this means I need to work out harder to obtain maximum comfort while sitting in them.

Re: Seats You All Love???
Looks like I'll be keeping my Corbeau Baja RS seats. I sat in them again this morning and they didn't feel as bad. I think it's just the newness of them and they don't hold you in quite like my Beard high backs that are super comfortable (although they're in desperate need of new foam and covers). ...

Re: Bronco Running Lean
Hey Steve! No, I didn't. I don't have a fuel pressure tester and I was in the desert when this happened. I will most likely look into buying a tester to see what it's reading. Only problem is the truck is 60 miles from me right now. My plan was to go back with a new O2 sensor, new coolant temp senso...

Re: Going wider
This can't be true. You were the biggest proponent of stock width. I like wider a lot but it's going to cost a heck of a lot and you might find that you were good with stock width. I will say though, if you're going wider, why not 4.5 inches wider. Also, Jeff's Currie F9 rear end is only 3-inches wi...
