Re: BajaHID.com Excursion August 2011

I'm usually much more of a fan of cloth seats than vinyl/leather (vinyl you stick to and it sucks on hot days and leather doesn't age well at all) but I've thought suede would be cool for the things. I wish I would have though of that before I ordered my mastcrafts 7+ years ago - haha. Agreed, the ...

Re: Prerunner Bronco Pic Post-& other cool stuff too...

And Chris - comparing that front end to the 80-86 is like saying Jessica Simpson (in her hotter days) = the '87-91 clip/pic above is not as good looking as Ru Paul = the 80-86 fugly front end. Still have ZERO clue how could ever even mutter with a straight face that 80-86 looks good on these bronco...

Re: Prerunner bronco c6 or manual?

Why buck the trend, the C6 has been working well for in heavy duty prerunners for 40 years. Here is a small problem with any manual that no one mentions: clamp on the brakes while in the air for whatever reason and when you land everything grenades, I have seen it happen more than once.

Unfortunately, the ready availablity of low cost crate motors in recent times has put many regular rebuilders out of business.

The 241 is the best choice but you have to change the output to a solid yoke instead of the slip yoke. Kits are regularly available.

Re: WANTED: Kick ass E4OD for free

An adapter is available to put the TH400 to the Ford V8 but no adapter for the BW1356 to TH400. Any ideas how to mate the two? It might be an interesting conversion. You could just use a new driver drop chevy t-case. Or an ATLAS II. The race truck uses SBF to T400 to Atlas II. It is the stro...

Re: SS300

Here is a mini race report: First 30 miles went great, the course was fast and smooth. We reached speeds of 115 on the graded dirt roads and we picked up a couple spots. About rm 30 we lost the front drive shaft; the bolts at the transfer case broke and the driveshaft pulled apart at the slip joint ...

Re: Alcoas and 5/8 studs

My studs came with double sided taper lug nuts... You sure those are 60*. A lot of the double sided ones are roundy round stuff and 45* taper. The stock taper is 60* all of the common 5/8 lugs from race sources are 45*. I bought a taper reamer for mine and re-cut the taper. Available here for $12.6...

Gun-It Racing to pit the Bronco Against the rock buggies

We are racing in the Best In The Desert Silver State 300 in Ultra4 class. There are 31 pre entries and at least 3-4 more that I know of. It will be the largest class in the race. We are going be be 6th off the line. We'll see what happens when we pit the class 3 Bronco against the KOH rock buggies. ...

I have a Detroit in mine and it has that issue, you can feel it and it affects the steering in 2wd if the hubs are locked. When I get time and some cash I am switching to a selectable locker of some kind for the front.

Re: Leafspring Hell?

The longer springs are better and all the your problems can be overcome, especially considering what you picked up the springs for. My Bronco uses springs that are 4" longer than stock, I replaced both spring hangers with ones from an F150; the front mount is 1 3/8 forward and the rear is 2 5/8 back...
