Re: Oldbaja. Chase
That is a good looking rear bumper. Thanks Philo, I never knew you were at Jet Boat Man but it makes sense with were you live. I used to have a California Performance, Jet boats are cheaper than offroad trucks, what the hell was I thinking? I've been looking for a CP or similar Gullwing lately. Sol...

Re: Turbo 400 3 to 4 speed upgrade
Hey Moss, in the T400, they take the planetary's and center shaft out of a 4L80, it goes right into the T400. The two cases are similar inside enough so they work. The 4L80E has the SAME components in the geartrain with a overrun and OD unit added to the front with a new case. There is no room in a...

Re: Turbo 400 3 to 4 speed upgrade
You can convert a 4L80E to manual valve body and a vacuum line pressure controller with transgo parts.
The biggest upgrade is the torque converter lockup... which can be controlled 700R4 style.

3/4-10 Grade 8 or higher.
Pay attention to bolt length as it can interfere with axle.

"Gumby" The 67 F100 Prerunner
Steve. It looks like I have a damaged 69 F100 driver door and a damaged 67 passenger door, in addition to a stack of good doors.

Re: "Gumby" The 67 F100 Prerunner
The driver door wasn't damaged. Only the passenger.
I think I have a couple of doors that are damaged/rusty tho. I know I have at least one good pair of extra doors.
Are you putting bump door handles on your dent?
Be aware there are slight differences on 67 vs 68-72 doors.

Haven't updated in a while. Did a little work disassembling Gumby 1.0. I threw Gumby 2.0 together and dropped it off at McQueen so they can start on their Bumpside glass. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170411/180b7ed71c10aa6efa538fe4d06cc9da.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170411/25e9d7cb...

Re: chevy l.s. engine swap vs good old ford power
I see more broken bellhousings in motor plate trucks than I do on regular trucks with rubber/poly motor mounts and trans mounts.
Most broken transmissions are from a broken crank, bent driveline, or broken flexplate.

Re: chevy l.s. engine swap vs good old ford power
Resurrecting a zombie thread here, sorry if this breaks etiquette. I'm putting an LQ4, 4L80E, and NP208 in an 88 bronco now. I bought the mounts from Autofab. I'm sure there's been a bunch of these out there already. Anyone have any insights or tips? I'd go to a NP205 over a 208 unless you can get ...

Re: 80-86 factory tach wiring.
Odd that your truck is missing the wires. Every 80-86 truck and Bronco I have seen was wired for a tach.

Re: 80-86 factory tach wiring.
Do you have just the tach? Or the whole cluster? If you have the whole cluster just plug it in. If just the gauge it's going to take a bit of work and finding a whole cluster will be way easier. http://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ford-trucks.com-vbulletin/2000x1000/80-image_10cd5bab6a7e0d6dbafa33b991ac...

If the heims are 1 1/4 they will be fine. Lots of trucks run heims instead of uniballs.

I want to remind you that I pointed this out to you in front of the Corona in Ensenada on a white Bronco 5 years ago.
