Re: Tire Balancing
I've run several sets of Toyo M/Ts without any balancing. I couldn't tell the difference when new or close to new. Toyo makes a very high quality tire.

Re: 9" build.
You guys might be better off with aftermarket calipers and large rotors (or stock front rotors) and a separate e-brake on the output of the t-case. There are kits with tiny drum or disk brakes for emergency use.

Re: Frame Welding Do's and Dont's (Thanks Nick)
So me welding my leaf spring brackets to the frame will actually weaken it? Possibly. If you have vertical welds across the face of the frame it may crack next to the weld. This is the reason all of the 80s and 90s Ford race trucks had bolt on or bushing mounted cages. Ford specifically told racer ...

Re: Auto Hubs to Manual Hubs
If you have 3 bolt hubs you need an aftermarket kit like the Warn one.
If you have 5 bolt hubs any manual dana 44 hubs will work.
Easy swap as long as you don't have top hat style hubs.

Did anyone go? I saw Rory at his booth.
I was dragging race vehicles around the track all weekend with my Bronco in 2wd. I was hoping to meet some other FSB/GFB/RD/DR members.

Whats up with the interesting geometery on the beam pivots? Did your fabricator use silicon-bronze rod when welding your beams?

Re: 2 link question
Hey Philo, I remember you had cautioned me to stay away from heims on both ends, well Keifer convinced me otherwise, and I have had zero vibration issues. It rides completely quiet, like it did prior to the 2 link. As far as my thougts, I just recently added the two link, and I feel much less wheel...

Re: Rear Tire Carrier
A Toyo on a 15" rim weighs over 100 lbs, and every other tire combo is 90-140lbs. I would not trust any carrier that didn't tie into cage somewhere near the top... without it you will eventually get stress cracks from flexing or the back half of your frame will break. The explorer spare mount above ...

Re: 2 link question
The springs live longer with a 2 link because the axle wrap doesn't fatigue them. I will be doing mine soon with a hiem on one end and a poly bushing on the other. Angling the links towards the center helps with roll understeer and keeping the axle centered. I have never worried about articulation.

I work in a small shop in a small town that does a lot of different things. We used to specialize in custom motorcycles & hot rods but it's hard to make a living here at that. We also have a mail order business that sold shaved door handle kits, but since everyone on the planet copied our design tha...

Use a hose clamp instead of a zip tie... the zip tie will fail and contaminate the yoke.

I've beat them in and out with a hammer and brass punch. Ford studs have a quick start so it's hard to damage the thread.
