Re: 1997 f250 prerunner build

i bought a raptor, my F250 would wreck it off road though.... might start parting the F250 out.... at least, the tire carrier, bumpers, and light bar. maybe suspension we'll see. way to busy to do anything with it.

Re: 1997 f250 prerunner build

Coming along nicely Jimmy. This truck really gives me examples and inspiration for mine. I'm in the same boat you are too, not a truck like us with in 1000miles, and no one knows what they are, or what they do. Look for some of you're ideas on my nite edition... hopefully. don't forget, i have buil...

Re: 1997 f250 prerunner build

Olathe,ks, fish out of water for sure. moved it for several reasons, mainly practice for my other truck. also the core support was totally rusted out along the bottom 1", and a new one was $200 and i didn't spend not half that doing it this way instead. finally i think it looks cool, and thats about...

Re: 1997 f250 prerunner build

blew a head gasket about a month ago. I had the heads ported, put a extreme 4x4 comp cam in, new water pump, plugs, wires, EGR delete, smog pump delete, long tube headers. took out core support, and relocating radiator to rear with electric fan from 3.8 taurus. engine going back together IMAG0113 (4...

Re: Removing "Unecessary" EFI Components

You can remove the EGR, evap solenoids, and air injection and it will still run. However it won't run as good as stock unless you spend some time reprogramming the ECM with different calibrations. The "EGR" delete kit is just a resistor that tricks the ECM into believing the EGR is jammed shut so i...

deleting smog equipment

this is a question mainly for guys who have "off-road only" trucks, did a search can't find what i am looking for. i want to delete the smog equipment, including EGR on my truck, for various reasons, main being clearing up room for engine cage and lightening my load up front and also because i want ...

Re: should i port my heads?

yeah, i am looking at a cam also. i think i am going to build up the heads, most everyone i have spoke with said i will see a definite improvement in performance somewhere around 60-70 horse power. the 1997 460 is a dog when it comes to horse power, around 270,(awesome torque though !). i got severa...

should i port my heads?

so i am pretty sure i blew a head gasket, which opens up opportunities to do some engine mods. question is, am i going to see any gain in performance if i port the heads, do high performance valves, lifters, springs, etc without having anything elso done? all i have right now is intake and exhaust a...
