Re: TRC's 79' build

Wow love the fiberglass kit from Autofab. If customs for shipping in Canada weren’t so expensive, I would have just bought the kit instead of doing my fiberglass parts myself. Keep the pictures coming? Regarding the FAST EFI system, I did install it on my 460. Easy installation but I got to do a lot...

Good to see another 78-79 Bronco on the site. Mine used to look just like yours same color and all when I got it. Keep posting on the site!

Re: cdn bronco solid axle prerunner

Redid the wiring for the new mod. Going with the FAST 2.0 system on the 460. Still the old motor but should be upgrading the motor when the AFR 460 heads come out!

Re: Let's see those go-fast Dashboards!

Went with something simple. I tied an aluminum plate to the cage and kept the top padding for the vintage look. The electrical part is what took all the time to do! I simplified all the wiring to keep the essentials.

Re: cdn bronco solid axle prerunner

What I am looking for, is a box with hydraulic assist without catch at low RPM. I had already modified my system with an AGR ram and a high flow pump to only have the system catch at a wrong time. I was drifting in the woods when I had to quickly counter steer and wasn’t able to do so because of the...

Re: cdn bronco solid axle prerunner

Went to take a look on the truck and it seems that at full lock the tire will be hitting the steering box. On Howe’s site they have a long sector shaft 800 box that would enable me to mount it higher on the frame. 1600$ that’s where I kind of choked! I will be calling them for another solution maybe...

Re: cdn bronco solid axle prerunner

I think I like the way you’re thinking! Might as well fab a new steering box!
Only need to find a Saginaw box with outer frame mount and front pitman arm for ease of installation? Any hint on a model before I call Howe or Lee?

Re: cdn bronco solid axle prerunner

Our box is modified like described here: http://howeperformance.com/desertracing-ford8s.htm We also had to reinforce/truss the top of the 44 housing. Broke one with a rock hitting the bottom of the pumpkin and splitting the case open. We also clearance the lower truss so that it doesn't act so much...

Re: cdn bronco solid axle prerunner

Has anyone done business with LEE Steering? I'm thinking of sending my box to get it refurbish and ad cylinder assist. I did it myself last time and I experience steering catch when I have to manoeuvre quickly!

Re: Smith Racing 1978 bronco build.

Will you be making your parts for the TTB? I saw that GiantMotorsports has made a conversion a while back. Maybe they could help. I might be in for a set of brackets?

Re: cdn bronco solid axle prerunner

Got some inspiration from Smith Racing to get my spare Dana44 braced. Did the lower part only in regards to keeping my up travel clearance. Still want a low stance with the truck. I will have to install the locker and new gears in the axle. Thinking of installing the EATON electric locker instead of...

Re: Trans and gear ratio's ?

I have the E4OD wide ratio gears, big R-Servo piston and TCI reverse manual shift, TCI torque and shifting is OK. Since I went to 37 the 4:10 gears are really not enough. I just finished my 5:13 gears. Should be putting them in after this winter. I’m sure this will revive the truck! Also, what I hav...

Thank you for the response. I already have a PSC-1405 pump so might be able to save a bit on the rebuilt.

Re: Brian's '96

Brian I'm thinking of having my steering box rebuilt by Tommy. What is your impression on the result of your rebuilt? Was it Worth it and did you install the steering box? Did the rebuilt cost a lot more than a PSC rebuilt?

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

I just ordered a new set for the front of mine and the guy was saying 250 over 300 up front, I went with lighter initial valving and a bit heavier spring and ordered 300 over 400...I think. Nice man. We tried a couple different set ups on mine, but all of them had a tall ride height. 250 over 300 w...

Re: Camel Joe Bronco 78

I have 4.10 at the moment. I should have gone higher the first time. I bought a set of 5.13. Haven’t installed them yet. Going with 35 spline spool in the rear instead of my Detroit. I'm hoping to get of the line quicker.
