Re: Best year to build?
Well ideally if you did this build right, you would be re-gearing for tire size anyways, so it seems like the issue could be negated for the most part here. That is good to know.

Re: Best year to build?
Probably a newbie question, but does the C6 have overdrive? How would and 80's C6 do for high speeds on the freeway? Not caring a ton about MPG, but would get real old running 5K at 65mph...

Re: Best year to build?
You guys know so much about these trucks! This will be a CA truck and not a trailer queen either. Not a DD but I want to be able to rip it around town or at races and such. So the smog stuff needs to stay. So from the comments above the 95 OBD1 may be the ideal setup so I can mess with the motor a b...

Re: Best year to build?
Great info guys! So it's sounding like most of the quarks of the newer stuff can easily be worked through in order to get the better newer 5.8. Is there a good spot where I can get some info on building up the 5.8? I read through about 5 pages in the general tech section and didn't see much info. Re...

Hey guys, Been a few years since I parted out my last Bronco. Finding myself wanting another one all the time! I am seriously considering buying another one and doing more of a long term more serious build this time. So with that said, I am trying to figure out what year is the best to build. I know...

Double shock brackets, stock suspension parts, shell
I have these posted in my parts thread, but figured some people may miss the free part, so here is the free stuff!!! - Shell off of my 1990. I replaced it because it has some holes in the top where a roof rack was mounted. The glass is still in great shape. This thing is free, I just need to get it ...

Re: PELLEY's 1990
Oh ya, also planning on moving the spare tire into the cab. Doing a simple vertical mount. Then using the pivots from the OG tire carrier and making it into a Jerry can holder. Replace all the tubing with my own, making mounts for 2 cans, and maybe a jack... Not 100% on how I want to do it, I want t...

Re: PELLEY's 1990
Wrapped up the rear bumper, well for the most part. Waiting for LED license plate bolts, and my KC oval backup light. KC also makes an amber light too, might put one of those on the bumper too, waiting to get the first light and see how much room I got... Oh ya, and I need to cut out some holes in t...

Re: Stock Pitman Arm
No prob. Don't take it as gospel just yet, I am in no way the expert on this stuff, but in reading tech write ups on the different options for steering, a lot of people run them. Really if you think about it, the steering isn't related to the drop down, but is related to the amount of lift... Others...

Stock Pitman Arm
I have recently pulled my 4" Rancho lift off my '96, and gone the cut and turned route. I currently have a 4" drop pitman arm, and am wondering if you guys recommend I use it, or go back to a stock pitman? I've read/heard different things about this, input much appreciated. Why not leave it? Still ...

Re: PELLEY's 1990
And as far as that cutoff wheel - I run mine until the hit the washers on the arbor. They come off about the size of a silver dollar. Makes them interesting to get off at times! Haha right. I usually just tighten by hand with the wheel as leverage. Does make for interesting removals for sure when y...

Re: PELLEY's 1990
Scott, thanks for the great info. After talking to a few others, and thinking about how I want to proceed, I am going to put these shocks on the rear. I think when I go to the front I am just gunna bite the bullet and go C/O... As far as updates go, this thing has been kicking my ass!!! I dropped th...

It's alive!!! Got the Bronco moving again today!!! Was debating on putting it together with misc. parts, or to wait for parts to make all new. Then got an email today that parts wouldn't be here until next week... Motivated me to do both... I went ahead and cut the floor while the tank was down, mad...

Ya, got the parts on Sat! Forgot to let you know. But ya you did send me the correct parts, you had fittings in both sizes. Re: Fuel Lines
No worries about the phone, and thank you so much for rushing that out!!! If I don't get it this weekend I'll let you know. On a side note, I think I figured out a long term fix. I found a company that makes a 3/8 fitting to 3/8 line, and a 5/16 fitting to 3/8 line. That will allow me to conect to t...
