Re: Steering Systems - Stock, Superunner & Equal Len. Crossover

Doing so will slow down the steering. Can speed it up at the pitman arm, but then the added leverage goes away. The real issue for me would be what it does for the Ackerman? OEM is not terribly great and I'm guessing that Ackerman isn't important to those who make those parts, so it probably suffer...

Re: Steering Systems - Stock, Superunner & Equal Len. Crossover

Has anyone put in a High steer type double sheer setup on the Dana 44 TTB knuckles. My though is to push out the tie rod, so it does not need to be bent. Also, it might give more leverage turning the knuckle. What are your thoughts. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240419/0c82fb8e74c259412fc7c6bae...

Re: Kenwood mounting

I Know this is an old thread, but I'm bored. I put a antenna splitter in line to run a 30ft mast and base antenna when we did remote pits. I also run a Kenwood TK890H so I had dual band capability and I control both the TK890H and the TK790H from a single control head up front. On the Bronco, I had ...

Re: GFB exclusive radio frequency

This is a old thread, but once I have my shop back together by the end of the summer, I will offer the GFB channel's in a basic programming for Kenwood TK790 and the older TK730. I will be putting it in all my radio's mobile and handheld. This was a great idea. I run my own frequencies for chasing a...

Re: D50/D44 Go Fast TTB – Gathering Ideas

Another dumb question, but do Dana 44HD 8 lug knuckles bolt directly to a Bronco Dana 44 beam? Then dies the 15" wheels still fit over the 44HD brakes? I would think the rims would need to be 16.5 or 17 to fit. I still want to run the bigger Dana 50 axles and bigger U-joints, are the 44HD U-joints t...

Re: Laser tig argon welder

I have now seen the new Laser welders from Everlast. They have a 2000 watt version that is perfect for Off-Road fabrication. It works on Aluminum and steel and 1/2" steel in a single pass. They even descale rust and old paint. That is so cool. It also works like a plasma cutter. So 3 machine's in on...

Re: Who's on facebook?

I am on there. It has been great to connect with old friends and family. Right now it is nice since I am stuck at home most of the time with a herniated disc in my lower back. It suck's. My back has put my Bronco project on hold, but I have still buying parts and reading a bunch of different setups ...

Re: Low Fuel Light

Are you having the typical fuel guage problems? I plan to replace my sending unit with the Holley Lidar unit. It has no moving parts. https://www.holley.com/products/gauges_and_gauge_accessories/gauge_accessories_and_harnesses/parts/19-250 I am putting a new in tank Holley fuel pump and will do both...

Re: Bronco Rear Tank Swap

I know this is a old thread, but I was thinking of doing just the opposite as the original post asked. I was thinking of putting a f150 38 gallon tank in my 86 Bronco chassis. I would assume the cross member would have to be pushed back 4 or so inches, but would it fit width wise? I was even thinkin...

Re: RELAYS, Solid state vs mechanical

Hey Paul I am not sure on the diode. I am starting to think about my wire harness and I don't like what I see from Painless or any other that is under $1000. I have done a couple wire harnesses from scratch for Baja Bug's, sand rails and my old Class 12 1835 car. This would be the first EFI car and ...

CTIS on Superduty axles

I found a cool writeup on how to put a Central Tire Inflation System on 05+ unit bearing axles, front and rear. It is the first system for a truck without using Portal axles I have seen. Check it out and comment about it here. I wonder if a unit bearing knuckle could be adapted to TTB front end. I d...

Re: Superduty Knuckle on a Dana 50 TTB

It was just a thought. The ease of service would be nice. I was looking for knuckles for the Dana 50 and there were a lot more newer Superduty knuckles verses the 95-97 F250 knuckles I was looking for. I have had 37X12.50R16.5LT tires and steel 24 bolt Millitary double beadlock wheels on my 1999 F35...

Re: Stub Shaft Keeps Falling Out

I know I am reviving an old thread, but has anyone thought of converting a non bolt in third member to a bolt in? It would seem to be easy to drill and tap 3 holes. The hard part would be the bearing and seal on the outside of the case. Maybe weld a spacer to the case, matching the bearing and oil s...

Re: 7 Degree Reamer

I'd the Dana 44 lower ball joint hole 7 degrees. In the past I did the cut and turn buy reusing the cut one and moving it out. I am going to make a bullet steel one piece lower mount. I keep seeing two angles 7 and 10.

I am going to get a reamer.

Re: All Band 100w Radio experience.

I am looking at a couple Icom or Yasue quad band radios with the detachable face, but most are only 50w with the Mars/cap channel expansion. Some of the new ones can be unlocked with a password and you don't even have to cut any jumpers like older USA legal FCC radio's. For now, the Kenwood TK790H a...

Re: All Band 100w Radio experience.

So no days GMRS is what most folks are migrating to. Now I have a mobile CB, Mobile VHF and two Boefeng handhelds that deal with all the bands. The handhelds are great for spotter duties on just monitoring the race when walking around. Also there is a big crowd using mobile GMRS. That is why I want...
