Re: Bronco Rear Tank Swap
I know this is a old thread, but I was thinking of doing just the opposite as the original post asked. I was thinking of putting a f150 38 gallon tank in my 86 Bronco chassis. I would assume the cross member would have to be pushed back 4 or so inches, but would it fit width wise? I was even thinkin...

Re: RELAYS, Solid state vs mechanical
Hey Paul I am not sure on the diode. I am starting to think about my wire harness and I don't like what I see from Painless or any other that is under $1000. I have done a couple wire harnesses from scratch for Baja Bug's, sand rails and my old Class 12 1835 car. This would be the first EFI car and ...

CTIS on Superduty axles
I found a cool writeup on how to put a Central Tire Inflation System on 05+ unit bearing axles, front and rear. It is the first system for a truck without using Portal axles I have seen. Check it out and comment about it here. I wonder if a unit bearing knuckle could be adapted to TTB front end. I d...

My favorite trail is Canyon Sin Nombre to Fish Creek and the drop off into Split mountain. A lot of fun for a night run.

Re: Superduty Knuckle on a Dana 50 TTB
It was just a thought. The ease of service would be nice. I was looking for knuckles for the Dana 50 and there were a lot more newer Superduty knuckles verses the 95-97 F250 knuckles I was looking for. I have had 37X12.50R16.5LT tires and steel 24 bolt Millitary double beadlock wheels on my 1999 F35...

Re: Stub Shaft Keeps Falling Out
I know I am reviving an old thread, but has anyone thought of converting a non bolt in third member to a bolt in? It would seem to be easy to drill and tap 3 holes. The hard part would be the bearing and seal on the outside of the case. Maybe weld a spacer to the case, matching the bearing and oil s...

Re: 7 Degree Reamer
I'd the Dana 44 lower ball joint hole 7 degrees. In the past I did the cut and turn buy reusing the cut one and moving it out. I am going to make a bullet steel one piece lower mount. I keep seeing two angles 7 and 10.
I am going to get a reamer.

Re: All Band 100w Radio experience.
I am looking at a couple Icom or Yasue quad band radios with the detachable face, but most are only 50w with the Mars/cap channel expansion. Some of the new ones can be unlocked with a password and you don't even have to cut any jumpers like older USA legal FCC radio's. For now, the Kenwood TK790H a...

Re: All Band 100w Radio experience.
So no days GMRS is what most folks are migrating to. Now I have a mobile CB, Mobile VHF and two Boefeng handhelds that deal with all the bands. The handhelds are great for spotter duties on just monitoring the race when walking around. Also there is a big crowd using mobile GMRS. That is why I want...

Re: All Band 100w Radio experience.
In this case, it is not for racing. I definitely prefer real race radios like the Kenwood TK790H or if on a budget, a TK730H. I own both of those and they both work great, the TK730H is a little more difficult to get programmed, but a computer literate person with Windows XP experience can get it to...

Re: 12v power for switch pros
The Switch Pro is basically a solid-state relay. If you wire it properly there should be a power supply directly from the battery. This is the power to supply all your lights and accessories. Then you have the Light Blue wire, which is a ignition sensor trigger wire. It turns the Switch Pro unit on ...

Slotted Mag wheels 8 lug 16.5x9.75
Looking for some Slotted Mag wheels. 16.5x9.75 with 8x6.5 lug pattern. They can have a ruff finish. I plan to have them beadlocked and powder coated. eventually I want to have a set of sand tires for the dunes and a set of hard pack tires. And a couple spares. I will probably have a couple for paddl...

Nice, I have a CT330 stroker motor in my 250r. I completely rebuilt it, split the case's and put a NOS CT top end. I have a 2006 Honda trx450er with a stage 2 hot cam I ride now and love it and electric start is nice now that I am in my 50's. I have too many toy's, I have the 450, a 400ex, a 1990 Y...

I am looking for a set of Early Bronco front Fenders and a hood. They can be ruff. I need them to section in pieces above the wheel wells to extend the Fenders and the hood to widen another hood. I will be lengthing the Fenders around 6 inches and the hood will be widened 6.5" per side of the hood, ...

Ok, I found some Spicer 35 spline outer conversion kits with everything but they are listed for a Ford F350 1978-1997 Dana 60 35 Spline Chromoly Outer Axle Shaft Conversion Kit. Do you think they will work on a Dana 50 Hub and knuckle? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240119/5ceac39903b5663d011162...

Re: New twist on an old front end.
I like it. Great work, I think Andrew Cho it doing something similar. I do like the idea of getting rid of the ball joints. I wonder what maintenance and the life of the unibals would be on an everyday driver? I would consider uniball rubber dirt and water seals to keep them clean. I have run covers...

Ok, I know you are saying, another post From David [emoji15][emoji24] Ok, the topic is about putting Transmission coolers on the side of a Bronco behind the door behind the quarter panel. I saw Brandon Hollander had vents built into his Bronco quarter panels and he said it was a lot of work. I may b...

Re: Spring rate questions
I have not tuned my Fox 2.5x16 coilover's with 2.5x16 bypass yet, but I have 400x16, 450x16 and 500x16 springs to choose from. On Chris Wilson's Class 3 Early Bronco with a 1990 chassis under it, Glen ran 500 over 500 with 14 inch shocks and the spring length was 14 inches each, upper and lower. I a...
