Re: dual exhaust questions
A X or H pipe relieves collector pressure caused by two cylinders firing on the same bank consecutively. When two consecutive cylinders fire on the same bank it overloads the collector on that bank with the second firing. A 351c fires 1-3 on the same bank, then alternates with 7, across again with ...

Re: dual exhaust questions
The most power is made with a single exhaust if packaging allows it though. I haven't heard this before. What is the thought behind this statement? Absolute peak power will come from dual pipes, but a properly sized single pipe give the best torque and usable power in the rev range you use most. Du...

Why not lift the front a couple of inches, that would give some more ground clearance.

Agreed.ChaseTruck754 wrote:While a rear truss isn't as good as a top - or even bottom, it will help (slightly) from bending tubes.

Re: Ford 8.8 vs 9"
Ground clearance is why you dont see them on the bottom. Top would be best but you cant go all the way out or you lose up travel due to bump placement so everybody compromises with a back truss or a half ass top truss...not the best but it helps. Considering the 9" housing un-trussed would hang low...

Re: My '77 Project
Most fof them are long bed 2WD's and rusted out over priced sh@tboxes. A 4WD short bed with no rust and a 400 / 4 speed is perfect for what I want for a DD. I bet I can drive a LHD one faster than you can drive a RHD one, though.....

I have used the Isky # 317252/257 cam (252/257deg adv. 204/210deg @ 0.050", 112 deg LCA, 0.465/0.480lift). Great mid range improvement with nice idle and good vacuum. If I used a Mass Air conversion on a 5.0 HO in a Bronco, I would use the Isky # 317257/265 (257/267deg adv, 210/218deg@ 0.050", 112 d...

I'd love to find something like this to bring back to Downunder. If its older than 30 yrs, I don't have to convert it to RHD!

The correct way is to hold down the right pedal and listen to your small block sing. No radio needed.

Re: Ford 8.8 vs 9"
Is there a reason why the truss goes on top, other than to mount links on a cast housing??? For desert running, trussing the top is like running emulsion shocks body up.... sure it looks cool, but it aint the right way to do it. Its like microwaving a steak. It might be done but it isnt any good......

Re: Ford 8.8 vs 9"
Ok well I found a 9" rear with 4.10's axles and brakes for 500. One problem, its an open diff. I was thinking about going with a spool. What does that intale? I'd like to know before I purchase it. Lockers are expensive, and the spools aren't too bad. use a mini-spool for now and save the money to ...

(He wasn't picking on you, Yikes....... really) Definitely not. I should note that his attention to detail is exemplary. Very clean and sanitary. Keep up the good work! Absolutely! After rereading his FSB and GFB thread severals times I couldn't agree more. :D I cant wait to see it in person one day.

x 2. Corner entry and exit are more predictable with a spool.mkiefer wrote:i liked my spool more than my detriot. tires are expensive but other then that the spool is way more behaved... plus with a spool it sets up for corners way better.

Re: Removing "Unecessary" EFI Components
Generally, good mechanics (really, this applies to anyone) don't like working on modified piles of crap. They like to work on stuff that works as intended so that there are not a bunch of variables that they have no experience with and can't predict how they affect the entire system. For the most p...
