Re: "Blanc-Oh!", my distraction

No 9" for me. I've been considering the next possible step if this doesn't fix the current axle. If it gets a new axle it will be a FF type with a pinion that doesn't drag in the rocks. If keeping some control of unsprung mass is going to happen (not to mention cost) that puts me into a Dana 60. On...

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

Phase 2 should also include a real axle. oh it does, lol. Along with a lot of other stuff. bypasses, front coilovers, longer radius arms, heims, etc. I am pretty much to the point where all the parts I had saved up to install are on, (except for front coilovers) so Im going to enjoy the mobility aw...

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

sorry pics got rearranged when i hit post, you get the idea though. The main reason the week was busy was because we were prepping truck for the EMC race and helping in remote pit 1 and 2. Well just 1. didn't make it to 2. rtr koh.jpg we had a great time, met lots of cool dudes, and made some new li...

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

Made the trip out to King of the Hammers, saw a lot of cool broncos while I was driving around out there. It was a crazy busy week, should have taken more pics, but this is what i got. This was our camp for the week, massive flagpole with Old Glory flying, and led string lights around the top to fin...

Re: 1996 Eddie Bauer

thats been my experience with my push button tcase in my 96. sometimes there is a short wait while the gears line up to mesh, but thats it. nothing over a minute or two. even in the winter.

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

well the speedometer is functional again. 100% my fault. when i put the diff together a year ago, i either totally space putting the tone ring in with the locker, or made plans to relocate the vss, which i later forgot. either way, dumb move on my part. tone ring is installed now, and speedometer wo...

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

Have you checked to see if the sensor is good? You should have some resistance (170-270 ohms is what a quick google says) across the two pins on the vss. If thats good, test the wiring at the next location and see if you're getting similar readings. If good there, move further down the system. You ...

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

I started on the front bumper today. The winch mount was the first part I wanted to get done, because it will be buried under the skidplate and bumper. I had an idea in my mind to try and get this as tucked in as possible and close to frame height for strong pulls during recovery, but back far enoug...

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

The third shim in the bottom picture isn't the right diameter. The side with the slim shim (hahaha) is going to be softer since the top two have the ability to bend more (at least I would think). Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk That's what I was thinking. they were supposed to be brand new sh...

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

This is an older pic of mocking up a rear bumper for the bronco. I plan on using the tube bumper as an air tank for the locker. Im hoping to get this put together before we leave for king of the hammers this weekend. IMG_20191003_085210_754.jpg I am having some issues that I would really appreciate ...

Re: krustythebronco a series of facepalms lol

I went through the rear shocks today, took out the pistons and checked fluid levels. Set the piston height in the reservoir, reassembled and pressured them back up to 200 psi. 20200128_121708.jpg The only weird thing I noticed was that the shims were a little different from one shock to another on t...

Re: 1996 Eddie Bauer

ill have to remember that, i wouldnt have expected that kind of quality from rockauto RockAuto has all levels, from good stuff to crap. Just had to order some O2 sensors for my Tundra and anything but Denso throws them off supposedly. Rockauto had denso for WAY cheaper than Vatozone, O'Reilly, etc....
