Raceline Monster beadlocks 17x9.5 w/ BFG MT KM1 35x12.50-17

Unfortunately my build isn't going to happen so I'm selling off a LOT of parts i've gathered over the years. First to go are the wheels and tires. They are brand new Raceline Monster beadlocks 17x9.5" with 5x5.5" BP and 4.0" BS. Mounted to them are like new BFG MT KM1 35x12.50-17 tires in near new c...

Re: John's 91 GFB

DAMN, this truck is turning out sooooooooo nice! And now you really have me rethinking the Steelit paint. Did your LS3 come with a corvette oil pan or you mentioned the truck pan that didn't fit? I was hoping there was enough room to use the corvette pan that came on my LS3. I will be making my own ...

Re: John's 91 GFB

I was originally not a fan of the lighter steel color but have come to like it. Its easier to identify and cracks or issues than black for me which is probably very rare and dumb but something I think about. I also like that you can weld right over it without any prep really, emergency repair out in...

Re: John's 91 GFB

What is your current gearing? I went with 4.88 when I was running 35s. I never got around to regearing the front. Now that I’m on 37s I’m on the fence about doing the front 4.88 or just redoing everything 5.13 I honestly will probably keep the 4.88 or Change to 5.13 depending on what I find for a f...

Re: John's 91 GFB

Amazing Bronco for sure! I'm glad i'm not the only one swapping in a LS3. Shocks out for freshening? Thanks, I love your build and really love that new garage you have! I am going to PM you some LS3 questions see what your doing on a few specifics. Shock are pretty fresh, had them all gone through ...

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

Thank you very much. I must have a ton of grease and dirt caked on top to where I couldn't feel it.

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

Question, How are the front rubber bump stops attached to the frame? I couldnt really see a good way to unbolt them or anything

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

My new cordless Milwaukee 4" grinder is MUCH better than I thought it was going to be. It's got more power then my other corded Milwaukee 4" grinders and it's quieter.

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

I also filled in the 2 1/2" holes on both sides of the frame rails above the front leaf spring perches.

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

I spent some time making a template for the frame rails. Next, I will transfer it to plate and cut it out with the plasma. I'm still undecided if I will cut scallops on the bottom of the plate so that sand and water doesn't get trapped inside the frame causing rot.

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

I did find a crack behind the steering box. So next I will be removing the box to weld up the crack. Then I can weld in a reinforcement plate to the steering box mount to hopefully stop it from happening again.

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

Got a little more progress done over the weekend. I removed the factory frame motor mounts. Then I was able to weld the engine cradle to the frame rails everywhere I could. It actually welded better than I thought it would being that it has 37 years of oil and crud in all the seams.

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

I hope the rest of the body mounts I can try those techniques. On mine, the bolt is rusted to the sleeve so I cannot remove the bolt. Instead I had to sawsall through the sleeve and bolt at the same time.

Re: Hollander's New Bronco

I saw it on Racedezert, good luck with the sale. I'm guessing the new Bronco with the 4 link rides much better than the other one on leafs?

Re: Black954's 81 Silver Lake sand dunes build

Here's a couple pics of the solid body mounts. I used zinc plated fender washers underneath the frame mount but I just received some thick stainless body washers to replace the zinc plated ones. Also, I finally got my plasma cutter this past week. I was waiting on it so cut out the plate used to box...
