96 bronco 351
Thinking about selling my 96 with 351. Has been posted up n the garage for the past 2 years and registered no op. Starts right up and drives but is throwing a check engine light so no smog. 99% sure its the injectors but I haven't gotten around to pulling to flush em and see. Has soft top on it now ...

Re: 96 tow hitch
Thanks for the reply, I actually ordered one from E trailer but even though it's a class 4 it's much shorter in the frame rail vs the stock one. I looked at the one u haul had and it's small as well and a class 3. Granted I'm just towin from my parking spot to the ramp but the boat weighs just over ...

Haven't done the compression test yet, I'm guessing that's on the short list when the code returns

Re: replacing fuel injectors
Also can you give me a link to a relatively cheep set of ford injectors? The ones i've seen are about $130 each! thought that was kinda high. Fordparts.com wants $234 each unless I can't read and that's for all 8.

Re: replacing fuel injectors
Thanks for the reply, I was told its a tough one. He wanted me to keep running the truck and see if I noticed anything else before throwing $ at it. It does have a slight intermintent lag and mild power loss when first starting out before the engine warms up. This only lasts a few seconds at most an...

replacing fuel injectors
Hello, chasing a check engine light from a cylinder mis fire (found the vacuum leak but still have the misfire code). New plugs and wires and old plugs looked good for the milage so hoping its not something worse but have been contemplating rebuilding the motor at some point. The shop I had look at ...

Re: 96 bronco motor rebuild
I spoke to the service manager about the job yesterday to see what was included and that price has a additional $400 for the missilanius odds and ins but I'm sure there will be something discovered along the way. When I bought the truck I changed all the hoses minus a few vacuums lines but I'm guess...

Re: 96 bronco motor rebuild
So I got a quote for $4,300 from my local ford dealer for a rebuilt long block installed by them. Doesn't sound awful since it has a 3 year unlimited mile warranty.

96 bronco motor rebuild
Can anyone recomend a shop in Orange County area that can rebuild a 351 and reinstall? Just don't have the time or space to pull it myself and trying to find a good shop that I can basically just drop it off at and drive it home a week or 2 later. Want to keep it smog legal but wouldn't be against t...

Re: Jack and jack skid question
As far as cutting up some metal I've got a decent chop saw but don't own a welder or the ability to lay down a remotely decent bead so sadly that's out. Do most people use a extension for the jack?

Re: Mechanic recommendations
Thanks for the help! It only occurs at slow speeds and generally under 20mph. Especially noticeable at low Rpm's, was considering changing the coil and see if that helps since it's the only thing I didn't change when tuning (plugs, wires cap/rotor) I cleaned the throttle body but didn't go nuts just...
