Re: EGR Delete on '95 California Edition 5.8

It can be turned off in the ecu/pcm software. A tuner can do it. Or custom pcm There are delete kits out there but most people never get them to work correctly What kits are you referring to? I'm trying to avoid having to send out the comp. Some, have had luck using resistors and the simulator, lik...

EGR Delete on '95 California Edition 5.8

I've had nothing but issues with my EGR system on my '95. I'm also going to be installing headers. I've seen plenty of threads floating around on how to delete the EGR sytem, however, none on a '95 with a 5.8 & MAF "California edition", (still uses OBD 1). I bought a simulator that was supposed to w...

Re: ABS removal question......

There is a way to uninstall the entire system. There is a thread on FSB and maybe one on here. No lights, like it was never installed from the factory. Waking up an old, but very useful thread. Anyone have a link to said thread in quote? I read all 103 posts and didn't see a clear answer on how to ...

I highly recommend Jon Woods. It was not cheap, but it still going strong for the guy that owns that truck now 7 years later.
Thanks, where is Jon Woods out of?

Re: The dreaded E4OD

I had Aamco build mine and they did steel planaterys and Z-pac intermediate clutches. Came with a 3 year warranty. I highly suggest a valve body from Punisher also. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk x2 on the punisher. Check out some of the rebuild tips in this link, or bring it to a competent r...

Buddy had the one in his F150 done there and it has been problem free (i own it now). i heard about them from another friend who had them do his e40d in his va...

Re: The dreaded E4OD

It's a C6 with some electronics and overdrive. None of that is complicated. It's not 1990 anymore. If you get a shit rebuild it's because the rebuilder knowingly half-assed things. Well, if it was that easy, then everybody would be rebuilding E4ODs. Plus, it wouldn't be wise to put a stock re-build...

The dreaded E4OD

So a while back while driving on the Interstate, I lost OD on my trans. No warning, no codes, trans was only running at 150 Deg. according to my Auto Meter gauge. Long story short, went ahead and replaced my solenoid pack, still won't go into OD, just drags. Have to drive with the OD button disabled...

Re: Lets talk seats.

Stock bench is 80lbs. I made the frame for the 3rd seat and it picks up all the factory holes and uses the factory harware. I use a Crow cam style lap belt in the PRP bucket. Re: Lets talk seats.

I had always thought buckets, but a bench can squeeze one more person in there if you really need to in an emergency. If I remember right a 42" fits nicely between the wheel wells. If you're still local & want to stop by I've got a 42" bench tucked away here you can look at for size reference.[/quo...

Re: Lets talk seats.

Haven't weighted them, but I know that rear bench is HEAVY! I've always thought it would be cool to make a tube base and have 2 bear/mastercraft/PRP/etc. buckets bolted to it & use the factory brackets/clips to make the thing come out easy. The race seats like that are waaaaay lighter than the fact...

Lets talk seats.

Hey all, been quite a while since I've posted. The other day I had to put my factory rear seat back in my '95 by myself, and between having to fight the torsion rod back in (found out later you had to install it from behind the seat  ) and the weight & bulk of it, it's not something I want to d...

Re: Bilstein questions.

I really appreciate all the responses, and thanks for the tip about welding the base of the shock mounts Moss2, I actually didn't even think about that.

I decided I'm just going run another brand of monotube shocks up front that are meant for a 2" lift.

Yeah, I was thinking I could possibly use the 4" ones as well, but wasn't sure. I was going to call Bilstein's tech department earlier today but didn't didn't get a chance to.. I'm unpleasantly surprised to hear that all of the shocks blew on you that quick.. What springs were you running? Were your...
