I've got another '66 single cab long bed in my garage. It's a friend of mine's. 2" beam drop 3" in the rear with new suspension and power disc brakes. Wilwood stuff, which has been fun to get to work so far. 390 with a 4 speed granny low. Neat old truck for sure.
Nice!

Looking good Steve! I have also inherited a family jewel. 66 ford stroked fe with fuel injection. Currently a majority is done. The motor loses oil pressure when warm so im going to pull it and check main and rod bearings. Its got some really good parts in it. Cool! I've had a 63, 64, and ad a 67.

The last two times I was at Pismo this year there was no creek.
The creek depends on the time of year and rain. It's been raging a number of times this year. Pretty impressive to see when it's like that.

Wow, I don’t think I ever saw this front end build. A front sway bar would be pretty great. With a disconnect would be even better!

My first thought: No. My second thought: I miss these guys! Cars change but it’s the same good people we all had damn good times with! I’m down to do something. On top of that, I’m feeling pretty over social media and algorithms that prevent me from seeing posts from the people I actually care about...

Well, sir. You clearly have way more experience and insight on this topic... since I'm, fortunately, not doing the work, I'll either get it it and love it, or learn it. Either way, I'm excited to have this project started. It's been in the works for a long time.

Re: Rugged Radios Stretched Bronco - Factory Race Support, Tacos, and Coffee!

FWIW Bill Wood once commented to me that those brake bias adjusters are the singular largest headache his tech people have and he'd discontinue them if he though he could. Good to know. I hadn't planned this brake change now, especially considering I a have a trip into Nevada next weekend, but it's...

Re: Rugged Radios Stretched Bronco - Factory Race Support, Tacos, and Coffee!

Did the porting ever get done on the intake Steve, or did that ever happen? The exhaust looks great. Why manual brakes? No worries! Yes. Porting is done and waiting for the new engine. Although, I'm tempted to install it on the current engine just to feel the difference. The current system was a ho...

Re: ABS Removal

Sooooo... I've only ever perused this thread. my ABS actuator just got removed. The control module and other electronics are still installed. I'm hoping to not need to dive into this before a trip next weekend.

Does the unhappy shifting only occur when the module is unplugged?

Re: Hei distributor swap

The distributor cap should have markings telling you how to connect. You need two grounds internally, and external ground, positive power (with key on) and coil (-).

I don't have any images on me now but can circle back. Post photos and I'll help.

Re: Superduty Knuckle on a Dana 50 TTB

I don't see the advantage. The D50 parts are damn strong and serviceable. As far as I know, unit bearings were designed to be less costly to assemble, not because they're better.
