Re: DRIVESHAFT CV
We race the 1330 joint and CV and really don't have that much trouble with it. We don't run that much horsepower through it but we certainly abuse it. Switched to the 1350 at the axle and had a lot more trouble. Turns out the "billet" yokes that we bought would tweak after a rock hit and eat the u-j...

Wow, a 2wd. Heard about them, have never seen one. I have had an 86 since 89 but it does not have that extra brace on the spare tire latch.

I was going to say it had that Spirit signature as well.damon1272 wrote:Though that does not look like Spirit radius arms the rest of the work on the suspension looks like Spirit work. They would build stuff and send overseas for rally type racing. Very cool video.

Re: Building a 2" leveling kit
If you are only looking for 2" of lift, I would consider shimming under the stock springs in the front. That is essentially a zero cost option. You should not even need extended shocks if you are only going that far. I would prefer re-arching leaf springs over blocks if you are only going for 2". It...

Re: Turbo 400 3 to 4 speed upgrade
Hey Moss, in the T400, they take the planetary's and center shaft out of a 4L80, it goes right into the T400. The two cases are similar inside enough so they work. Sent from my SM-T900 using Tapatalk[/quote] That is interesting, I did not know that. I think the only GM trans I have rebuilt is a Powe...

Re: Turbo 400 3 to 4 speed upgrade
There is no room in a C6 for another gear. It has to go in front or in back. That is what a E4OD is, a C6 with another planetary tacked on the front, that's why they are so long. The rear 3/4 of the E4OD trans is an electronically controlled C6, they share the same internals. There is no combination...

Re: NORRA 1000 2017
Team Autofab had a pretty clean run. Another Second place in class. Didn't get stuck, have any flats or serious mechanical failures. The new Lead Nav stuff on the ipad is an excellent addition. Good thing, the Lowrance took a dump before BOLA. Engine ran strong. Had some trailer issues, typical in M...

Re: Alternator question
I run two of the Powermaster 105 amp single wire alternators on the race Bronco. They are basically a Delco 12s alternator stuffed in their own Ford case that bolts right in the older Ford motors. I like them and continue to run them. They take a beating and when I pull them apart after each race th...

Hey Steve. Probably don't have to tell you, but check the impact switch. Can't tell you how much I have chased my tail with this one, and how many miles I have run with one bypassed. Being near the coast is hard on them. When it starts one time and not the next, it's suspect.

Re: 10th Annual huckFEAST, MLK weekend
Like Rick said, the food was fantastic and so was the weather. Creek crossing turned out to be a none issue even with my low rider trailer. Had 3 of 4 kids there and both the grand daughters. Watched the Space X launch from Vandenberg. Had frost Monday morning! Watched a truck burn to the ground bac...

Re: 10th Annual huckFEAST, MLK weekend
Weather looks like it might work out. Second trailer has already had to pull out. The creek crossing has been a little crazy from what I hear. May stash the trailer at the RV park up on the highway if it is too high to get the trailer through.

Re: Best 9inch year to buy for my bronco
Has anyone bent an econoline housing? If so, where? They can all be bent or broken, it just depends on how hard you want to beat it. It usually happens in the tube where it is welded into the banjo center section, even though it is fish mouthed in there. We have bent and cracked two aftermarket Spe...

Re: Pre-Spring Under Setup- Setup :-)
Unless you have springs considerably longer than stock, you won't be able to utilize all 18" of those shocks. An 18" shock is something like 48" extended. May stick up above the cab to make them work with a notched frame? If attaching the shock to the top u bolt plate, we have done that successfully...

Re: RIP, Ramsey El Wardani
We first met Ramsey and his wife at Olivia's on the beach, south of Mulege quite a few years ago. He knew all about us and I had to catch up later on him. Apparently he had a soft spot for Class 3 and the existing rules, and must have made life miserable for some of the entries that were looking for...

Re: MOSS BROTHERS 79 BRONCO CLASS 3 RACER
Sorry I didn't have a chance to talk at V2R. The 73.9 MPH average our truck had was making chasing difficult to keep up! No worries. There was enough chaos going on anyway, I was just enjoying the show. I did see your Dodge go by once in Tonopah, but I never did see it again. If you guys were up in...
