Re: Rancho Long Arm Converting to Rod Ends

nothing against the EB but I really dont like that method in the slightest. The original reason for the question would simply be if I found a set of the Rancho arms at a salvage yard and got a set for around the $50 range-- add-- $30 in plate and about a couple evening of my time. The thought would ...

Tailgate Wont Unlatch

Hello All, On my 96 the tailgate wont unlatch on the driver side. The rear window is fully down and you can see/feel the passenger side is not latched but the driver side is. Do I am guessing there is probably some of the clips that die or are old and flex too much?? Do I just basically run up to th...

First Project-

This is my first ever FSB repair-- whoohoo -- fixed the radius arm bushings and put on a pair of brake pads. Got part of the front outside and bottom of the frame wire wheeled clean, sandblasted the radius arm brackets and gave the hub/rotor a wire wheeling and some paint. Drives a whole lot better-...

Pics of your Prerunner Bumpers w/ skidplate

Hey if you have what you think is a sweet preruner bumper I would like to see it. I would kind of like to build something and have a really good idea before the tubing starts to bend :-)

Re: Cutting a 3" Hole in the Frame

I think I really wouldnt be any kind of an issue. while I am pretty confident in my fabrication abilities I'm not a mechanical engineer. Your idea of adding some material aound the hole that would go outward around a foot-ish. For me exhaust that exits before the rear tire is just super cool-- but t...

Cutting a 3" Hole in the Frame

Hello All,
Actual serious question-- has anyone cut a hole in the center of the frame in the middle of the frame to run the exhaust through? I am simply can not imagine there being a structural issue at all. I would cut the hole with a holesaw not a torch/plasma.

Thanks,
Matt

Exhaust-- is Bassani It?

Hello All, I was wondering if the bassani exhaust for the FSB is basically what goes on these trucks? The headers seem to be pretty standard. My thoughts might be to go with a header, modified Y-pipe to add the 3 oxygen sensor bungs and then put whatever muffler you want on the back with a turndown....

Re: 96 Bronco - Project "Cheryl"

following the Yikes build is just no good for me :-) I love the speeds these trucks can run and all the luxuries like a/c, sealed interior and a decent stereo are something that my beloved 66-77 Bronco

Re: Brian's '96

I hve so many things better to do than be in the internet for a couple straight hours but I just went though all 67 pages of this build and its just killer in about every regard. I have a few questions about a few things but I will have to ask later. Awesome build!

Bolting to the Frame Vs. Welding??

Not sure if this is go fast or general- On the FSB frames -- do all recommend having the radius arm frame brackets, spring hangers and such-- welded on or bolted on? Anything on the 66-77 is welded but I have seen a lot of bolted on and thats is both easier and tougher depending on the position you ...

Re: Rancho Long Arm Converting to Rod Ends

I was thinking that you could slide something over the tube and get a threaded bung in there somehow. I dont want straight ones unless they are known for bending or not as well made. I figured I would just fab a set of frame mounts as those are easy to do and really straight forward. I wanted to pla...

Re: Spare Tire Inside

I am wanting to ditch the factory external tire carrier. Can you use a factory inside mount or do you have to fab something? How does it mount to the body? Theres got to be a way to keep the seat from getting broken down easily --just as long as it fits.

Rancho Long Arm Converting to Rod Ends

Hello All, Didnt find this anywhere-- has anyone taken a used set of good straight Rancho long arms, sandblasted them, added some threaded bungs to the rear of the arm, plating or whatever you are wanting extra on them. Reason I am asking is here in AZ a couple times a year I seem to run across thes...

Anyone know if you can sorta kinda fit a 35" tire inside the rear driverside and have a rear factory seat?
