Re: Help - BAD one-wheel death wobble hitting bumps between 25 and 40 mph

Too much caster can make it wobble too. If hitting the brakes makes it worse perhaps its because your caster increases when the front dives. Since you have coil overs maybe try increasing ride height and see if it changes or lower ride and see if it gets worse. How much is Tons?

Here is a link to a great Moss Brothers Bronco replica RC model.

He has an incredible level of detail and accuracy for just working from photos.

Re: Rex , White (OJ bronco) build!

I am curious how long your front links are. I drew up a similar setup but have not gotten anything turned into metal. I found making unequal length with the top link shorter and not necessarily parallel it really helped the caster change. With some experimenting I was able to get down to 1.5degrees ...

Re: Roll cage install

Those holes way out at the end of the plates aren't really going to do very much until the other four have pulled out or deformed the floor about a half inch, so I would drill some different holes in that plate if you can find places that have better meat underneath. On one of my old Toyotas that I ...

Re: Bronco Speed Class???

Full floor, top, glass and all the extras to race you will be approaching 6K lbs. A single 2.5 shock and stock springs controlling all that will have all the class 11cars blowing past you in the rough. The rough is about 90% of races now if you have post run any lately. The other 10% is mostly speed...

Re: Bronco Speed Class???

I would love to see a bunch of broncos racing. I don't think your rules would make it any cheaper or easier to run than a competitive Class 3 car now, just slower and heavier with more stuff to maintain. I think those that dream of racing their prerunner/daily driver might do it once or twice then d...

Re: Fuel Gage pinned pass full

This is a copy and paste of the link you were scared to open above. If you open it you will find the pinout of the connectors to trace it if needed. Sender Range: 160 (full) - 16 (empty) Ohms A gauge that pegs past full indicates an open circuit on the Y/W wire (broken wire; unplugged connector; cor...

Engine out of the old VW trophy truck. Dick Van Dyke is going to run it to the first pit?

Re: Why does my turning radius SUCK !

Generally if you widen the track you need to make the inside front wheel turn sharper and the outside a little less to follow the same radius turn. From a quick sketch it looks like a couple degrees difference from stock at a 40ft radius and +4inches per side. Caster and camber make a big difference...

Re: Why does my turning radius SUCK !

Probably the biggest killer would be a spool in the back, or a locker that locks easily. Then different offset wheels that change the scrub radius and steering geometry probably doesn't match the width and wheelbase quite like a stock setup.

Re: Bilstein 5100.

I don't think it is fair to bash a product when you are using it in a way it is not made to be used. For its intended purpose they are pretty good shocks. Most of the issues arise from people lifting the truck and expecting the stock mounts to still work for full travel. The radius arm shock will bo...

Re: Front drive shaft issues

Unlikely it has anything to do with drive shaft or u-joints if it is locking up. Isolate the problem by disconnecting driveshaft. Jack it up with hubs locked and rotate each tire and pinion input and see if you get noise or lockup. With the front tires on the ground and hubs locked if you get a half...

Re: 96 bronco motor rebuild

Don't expect other parts to be included in that price, only the long block and labor. Vac lines rad. hoses or whatever will most likely be tacked on or work will halt until they get approval from you to pay for the extra part needed. You might discuss that with them upfront so they know how to proce...

Team AUTOFAB. Looks like they made some good time today with more oil containment. Rick was looking pretty happy at the finish so they must have been getting it towards the end. Don and Rick in at LaPaz.

Looks like the worst qualities of a Bronco II and an S10 Blazer combined. With those wheels Im guessing it may come with airbag system so you can hop it down the trail.

Yes pretty fast in a good rig. Not really any crawling unless there are washouts, which is always possible. I haven't been on quite a few of the roads for several years. 4wd probably good idea in a couple spots.

Bishop to Bodie.JPhttp://www.gofastbroncos.com/forum/download/file.php?mode=view&id=18882G Here is a route I made up. It is right at 100miles with only 5 pavement. 9500ft max elevation so could have snow in Oct. Other ways to go but would add quite a bit of mileage. Unlikely to make a longer trip w...
