Re: Where do you get shocks charged?

I had the same problem here in FL. Had to pop for a Tank so I didn't have to worry about it , glad I did as I have had to discharge and charge them several times during the build process and such. If your neer Tampa let me know..

Re: Tow Rigs what do you use?

Very dissapointed in the supercharged V-10. Nice truck, good frame and body, I just did not get the kick out of it that I was expecting. Not sure if it was tuned right, or maybe I just wasn't stomping on it hard enough with the dealer riding shotgun :) Think i'm gonna pass on it, don't need another ...

Re: Tow Rigs what do you use?

Gonna go look at an '03 F 250 6.8 V-10 with a Whipple Supercharger on it tomorrow. Low miles, decent price, I'm sure it could tow anything the 7.3 does but mpg prolly sucks.

I'd like to run the Texana 250 there in March as a shake down race. I've been looking into it for a month or two now as well.

Re: Tow Rigs what do you use?

I wish i could find a 7.3 for 10K. There just not that many out there here in FL and the ones I'm finding with low miles are closer to 20K, which to me seems like a lot for a 10+ year old truck. Would anyone bother with a gas engine: Ford 5.4 Triton or Chevy 6.0? I just don't think I wanna tow acros...

Tow Rigs what do you use?

I'm in the market for a tow rig and was wondering what everyone here is using or has used and their opinioins on them. As much as i'd love to have the new ford 6.7L I'm not ready to part with 50K. I'm kinda partial to Fords but any reliable rig would do, it is not a daily driver. Ford guys.... all I...

I like polyperformance and use them when they answer their phone. :D I once called about a dozen times in a week looking to talk to someone about a hole flange and never got a hold of anyone. Not sure where the glitch was....

Re: measureing for bumps and straps

I like the ruffstuff straps, more than you'll ever need. I've got a new never used pair of 16" (i think) $30 and/or a barely used pair of 14" $25, if your interested. Side track-I'm down in Tampa...Do you know of any good spots up in Jax area to do some high speed testing, Tampa is kind of bland for...

Re: 8.8 and 9" disc brake options

-"A cheap and easy solution for the 9" if you are not worried about a parking brake is to use front rotors from a Jeep CJ7 '77-84 and GM metric '78-88 calipers. The caliper brackets are available from several sources. Total cost is about $150. Rotors new less than $30. Ea, Calipers with pads for $45...

Re: Need some help on the tranny I have

Be careful, some of these extra capacity pans require a fair amount of fab work to the crossmember to be able to fit. Not sure about the E4OD but a 2 quart pan and a C-6 require this.

Re: Wish I found GFB before FSB

I run a Bilstien with ACV 14" coilover with 400/250 rates. I think i could go up or down 50 on either one and it would be pretty good. Most of the shock companies could get a close starting point for you if you give them a call.

Re: Wish I found GFB before FSB

I think you can make a SA run pretty darn good in some rough stuff. It depends now on what your willing to do to get it to that point. I'm building a '78 Bronco with a SA and it has exceded my expectations as far as how nice it rides in the rough. Take a look at some of the Ultra 4 solid axle guys, ...

Re: Shift Improver kits

Update: Got the above kits installed in my C-6 and finally got a chance to really check it out yesterday. Completely different truck to drive in a good way. Love how it hits into 2nd and 3rd. Feels like it connects the power to the road so much better. Next I'll try it in the dirt, cant wait.

Only one way to find out :D Doesn't look like the crack is through and through yet. you could probably get away with a few miles with a light foot. Could always throw a quick bead of weld on it temporarily.

Re: be careful where you buy your metal

Just out of curiosity, what is the approx going rate for CroMo tubing right now.

Ive been quoted for a 3' length of 1.5 x .188 wall tube at around $30 from one place

and over $60 from two others.

Re: Suspension setup questions

I don't think your gonna find many of the straight axles getting much more than 11 or 12 on the front end. Your probably getting pretty close. Air bumps will definitly help out with bottoming out, but sometimes they are hard to find a spot to mount them. If you've got a bypass up front , try putting...

Re: Spray in bed liner questions

A concept that i have been thinking about is dynomat or sound deadening matt first, and then lizard skin on top of that. I would think that if the lizard skin was applied thick enough it would not be a problem with the dynomat underneath sloughing off, but that is the question. Any thoughts?

Re: Picking up a C6 Trans and a 351 Cleveland

You should check on the availability of parts that you may want to add to your set up in the future. Not sure what the plans are. I don't know how much aftermarket support the 351C has. I know I have had a bit of a struggle at times finding stuff for my 351M for my 78 bronco build, and if i did find...
